New Life on a Hymn Sunday

As a nerdly Lutheran kid I used to gripe about having to practice those Baptist hymns for Miss Leila Arrington, but today it paid off, once again. I got a callyesterday to substitute for the pianist at Rehobeth Presbyterian Church for their hymn Sunday. The minister told the congregation that her maternity leave was starting right after the service today, her due date! Then we all proceeded to sing 16 hymns and if your eyes were closed, you'd have thought you were in a Baptist church. Much fun! Hope that baby is ready to come join us!

West Atlanta Music Fest, Sat. Aug.

We had the best time rehearsing for the ! Myrna has the pipes and our 24 piece swing band is really coming together. We're some great tunes: everything from Neal Hefti's L'il Darling to Birdland to Earth, Wind and Fire. And of course some great Motown, too. This is going to be a great show and I hope everyone can come out. I am so proud to be part of this.  https://www.facebook.com/events/288807264656269/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming
